Time to Learn
“Trade" is a professional development forum by local creatives for local creatives, we want you to be the best you can be and have space to think about your work and have people that can support you and that you can support in return.
To get to the point of paint touching a canvas things have to happen, a journey has to have taken place, sometimes through education.. sometimes not.
A maker may have to get their partner up, feed and cloth them , ensure there ok for a few hours , drive to the studio, put music on, sing and then make …
Another artist has to get the kids up, fed them, organise and pay for childcare, deliver them to school, drive to the studio, and then can get painting..
A designer has to sell their services, to pay the bills to allow the work to to happen..
All these creators , artists, designers and makers need to organise others and organise their income before they can have time to even think about creating.
Some have to prioritise making money.
Some need to give themselves permission to get to that moment of creating.. putting aside the guilt of leaving the rest of their life to be able to create.
Understanding that leaning into a creative practice, making it more than a hobby, that it is truely beneficial to others, requires support, understanding & learning that goes deeper than writing a business plan or dancing for likes.
That is where “Trade” comes in, we have a 360 approach to professional support and development, and we can help to get all of the pieces of the jigsaw in place. Making your creative practice fit into your life, be sustainable and beneficial takes investment and commitment.
Trade is a professional membership forum, where local creative practitioners from any dicipline, emerging to established, can come together, for support, advice, training and personal development.
We have invited a range of different people (some creative and some not) to share their knowledge and experience.
These have been gathered together into a bank of information that is locally sourced, which means you can keep the conversation going.
The membership is for 12 months, and each month you will receive content around a theme. You can expect films, tasks or challenges (especially as we are linking up with Causeway Living and SupHubNI) , links to podcasts and signposts to books or further information
Each month we will have a meet-up, in real life and on-line to share what we have discovered over the month.
Professional Development for the Arts and Creative sector. This membership provides you with access to themed monthly professional support and development, online and in real life. 1 x co-working session in Boom Studios per month. Access to an online private group of forums members. Monthly emails with sign-posting to relevant opportunities and 6 week website bootcamp.
