January - Mountains
Happy Burns Day! January's class will focus on painting Mountain scenes, looking at colour palettes for cool misty distance views and complementary warm heathers and brackens. Explore mark making for texture and achieve a dramatic effect in your painting.
February - Looking Through
We're looking forward to Spring in this class but making the most of the bare shapes still visible in our landscapes. Bare trees, stone arches, bridges, we'll practice silhouettes, perspectives and layering your painting to achieve your view within a view.
March - Spring Colours
Inspired by the first spring shoots and blooms, we will explore bright palettes with a focus on values to create contrast in foliage and light.
Each month, the landscape painting class follows a morning sketch walk class. Jenni has designed the sketch walks to relate to the afternoon painting class, so if you would like to book on to both, you can enjoy an immersive day of sketching then using your source material to make a painting in the afternoon.
Jenni mostly paints in acrylic and this will be the default material for teaching, however if you have your own paints that you understand and would like to bring to work with, you are welcome to do so.
Suitable for beginners, those looking to refresh their skills and anyone who would enjoy making art in a relaxed, friendly setting.
