BRIGID 1500 2024 - OPEN CALL
SULT Artists are delighted to announce a National and International open call to mark Brigid
1500, taking place from 1st
-28th February 2024.
The exhibition aims to celebrate contemporary art responding to the influence of Brigid,
woman, goddess, saint, icon and will take the form of an Art Trail in designated venues around
the town of Kildare. It will be accompanied by a high-quality, limited edition catalogue of the
selected artwork. The organisers will advertise and actively promote the exhibition on social
and other media.
General Guidelines:
• Artists may submit a maximum of two works, to include painting, photography, original
prints, drawing, lens-based media, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture and textiles.
• The work must have been created from 2020 onwards.
• The dimensions of finished 2D works are to be not less than 30cm at its shortest side
and do not exceed more than 150cms in any direction. 3D works should occupy no
more than 1 square metre (one cubic metre) volume /space.
• If selected, the work must be delivered to a venue tbc in Kildare, between 3rd – 5th
October 2023 by the artist or a nominated representative. (NB If selected works are not
delivered by the delivery deadline they will not be accepted for exhibition)
• Submissions for consideration must be made through the dedicated submission
platform which is online only.
• Each submission will require the name of the artist, title, dimensions, medium, image
and text describing the inspiration for the piece (100 words), as well as a short
statement/bio (100 words). It should be indicated if the work is for sale.
• The organisers have arranged to photograph the work for the catalogue. However if
work is being submitted behind glass, please either send your own high res (300dpi)
image or leave framing open for access.
