Creative Bursary Scheme 2023/2024: Support for creative individuals

For 2023, this programme will award a £10,000 bursary to 13 creative practitioners in any art form. We will award three of these bursaries to creative practitioners working in or identifying with these areas:

• traditional Irish

• a minority ethnic background

• LGBTQIA+

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Thursday 16 March 2023. 

The bursary scheme is flexible and will be responsive to the needs and ambitions of each winner to allow for innovation and experimentation. A bursary is not for a specific project or output but will focus on career development and mentorship.

To receive an application form and guidance notes, contact us by email culture@belfastcity.gov.uk. Your application should refer to our cultural strategy, A City Imagining. 

You don’t need to live in Belfast to apply. If we award you a bursary, all your creative work or activity funded by our bursary must be Belfast-based.

Creative Bursary online information sessions
