Who are we and what do we do?
Inspired and informed by their individual experience at Project 24 Bangor, a small group of local creative practitioners wanted to create a vibrant workspace where they could develop their individual enterprises.
In December 2014, those practitioners took over a vacant town centre building, in Bangor, Northern Ireland, and Boom Studios was created.
The building was a blank canvas and has since been redeveloped into 19 workspaces, a workshop space and a gallery space. In 2018 “Boom 2” was added as a second location. Boom! Inc now operates two creative hubs with 27 studios, 2 workshops and 1 x gallery. We currently directly supporting 34 artists, designers, makers, and arts facilitators at various stages of their career.
We support, nurture and help them to develop their work, whatever that looks like.
By placing creativity in the centre of town, Boom! Inc makes a positive contribution to the regeneration of Bangor City Centre, creating opportunities to link traditional local businesses with the local creative industry.
